For that price I'd rather get the i5 with more memory. I'm assuming you're planning on sticking the current video card in it? What card do you have now... I need to consider power requirements.

Only HPs I recommend is the business line. The Pavailion line is garbage IMO.

I do not really know consumer brands anymore so I do not really know what is decent or not anymore.

Pay a BOTA to build/ship one to you...you could do much better for $1K.

8GB of RAM is like a 20 core processor...youll never use it.

Or if you are just trying to keep it simple, that HP works.
