What did he pay for it, since all I can seem to find it that $3000 will get you this with "money left over for paint balls"?

Seems neat enough, but it isn't near $3k "neat", IMO.

I'm also not so hot about this:

Qualifications: In order to purchase a Series 1 turret, you must:

Now this has potential. Costs a whole lot less, too. Of course, you have to do more work to get it working, but you also don't have to putz around, begging for one and explaining what you're going to do with it.

No idea what he paid for it, and I'm not even sure it's the same thing he bought. All I know is that it was an automatic turret that raped us with a low end M249 (A&K I think). Awesome, yet ridiculous.
